A block is already falling: slide it, spin it, fill a whole row and watch it vanish
Block Fall basics: the field is 10 columns by 20 rows and seven four-cell shapes fall through it in turn. Move and rotate them to complete a full row, which then clears and scores. The round ends when the stack reaches the top and a new piece has nowhere to spawn. There is no timer and no final level — your score is the result.
Block Fall scoring table: 50 points for one row, 150 for two, 350 for three and 800 for a quad (four rows at once), all multiplied by the current level. The combo counter starts at 0, gains one on every piece that clears and resets to 0 on any piece that does not; once it reaches 2 the base score is multiplied by 1.5 and rounded down. Soft drop adds 1 point per row and hard drop 2 points per row, neither of which is multiplied by level or combo.
How Block Fall speeds up: level = starting level + lines divided by 10, rounded down, capped at 15. The drop interval starts at 1100 ms and is multiplied by 0.85 per level: 1100, 935, 795, 676, 574, 488, 415, 353, 300, 255, 217, 184, 156, 133 and 113 ms. The first three levels are deliberately slower than most falling-block games so a new player reaches their first line clear in time.
The three Block Fall speeds: Relaxed pins the level at 2, so the speed and the score multiplier never change. Standard starts at level 1 and gains a level every 10 lines — this is the default. Expert opens at level 6, which is 488 ms per row from the first piece. Best scores are tracked separately for each speed.
Hold and preview in Block Fall: the top box of the right rail is the hold slot and the three below it are the pieces coming up. Hold swaps the current piece with whatever is parked in the slot. There is no limit on how often you hold, but each piece can only be held once — the credit comes back when it lands. Pieces come from a seven-bag: every group of seven contains each shape exactly once, so two bars are never more than 12 pieces apart and you can count on one arriving.
Why a piece will not rotate against the wall in Block Fall: rotation tries, in order, staying put, shifting one column right, one column left and one row up; the bar also tries two columns right and two columns left. If none of the six fits, the rotation simply does not happen and it does not consume one of your ten floor adjustments. Move one column away from the wall first and it will turn.
Getting interrupted mid-round in Block Fall: switching apps, locking the screen, losing window focus, scrolling the playfield off screen or 60 seconds without input all pause the game and clear any held keys. You have to press resume and wait out a 3-2-1 countdown to continue. Even a page refresh brings back the board, score, lines, level, hold slot and piece queue exactly as they were — only the piece that was in the air restarts from the top.
Playing Block Fall with friends: solo score chasing is the main mode at 3-6 minutes a round. Turn on pass-the-phone in the settings and 2-8 players each take one round on the same device at the same speed, then everyone is ranked by score. Contest results live in that session only and never touch your personal best.
⚠️ Block Fall runs entirely in your browser, makes no network requests while you play, and keeps scores on this device only. For entertainment purposes.
