🕹️ How to play

  1. Set the players (optional): Four players by default. Tap the players button to go from 2 to 8 and rename them, or skip straight to the game.
  2. Tap Spin: Whoever's turn it is taps the big button. The slice under the pointer is what happens: you drink, safe, all drink, pick one, spin again, or take a shield.
  3. Do it, then pass the phone: The result card spells out the one thing to do. Tap Next player and hand the phone on. After six spins you get a round summary and can start another.

📖 Rules & variants

Six fixed 60-degree slices: You Drink (the spinner sips), Safe (nothing happens), All Drink (one sip each), Pick One (the spinner names who sips), Spin Again (same player spins once more) and Shield (a card that blocks one hit). The six words never change - only the flavour line under them does.

Two modes. Progressive (default) burns each slice as it comes up, so the chance of You Drink climbs 1/6, 1/5, 1/4 all the way to a certain 100% and every round contains exactly one hit. Independent keeps all six slices in play every spin, holding the odds at about 16.7%, and lets you pick 6 or 12 spins per round. Switching modes applies from the next round, never mid-round.

Turn order and brakes. Play goes clockwise, and before spinning you may pass the spin to the next seat once per round. Spin Again chains at most twice (three spins in a row), All Drink fires at most twice per round, and shields cap at two and clear at the end of a round. A capped slice is dimmed and its weight set to zero, so it physically cannot come up - the game never re-judges a spin after the fact. No line ever asks for more than one sip.

Scoring and house rules. The summary bars each player's sips and crowns the steadiest player by fewest sips, then longest dodge streak, then fewest times named; a three-way tie is shown as a tie. Common variants: non-drinkers turn on soft-drink mode and play exactly the same game, two-player tables can switch off the handoff screen, and longer sessions use independent mode with 12 spins. No online rooms, no custom slices, no leaderboard.

❓ FAQ

How do you play drinking roulette?
Put one phone in the middle, whoever's turn it is taps Spin, and the table does whatever slice the pointer lands on - then the phone passes on. The six slices are You Drink, Safe, All Drink, Pick One, Spin Again and Shield, and each is a single action with nothing extra to memorise. Six spins make a round, and the summary card offers another one.
What are the odds of landing on You Drink?
In the default progressive mode used slices vanish, so the odds climb: 1 in 6 (16.7%) on the first spin, then 1/5, 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, and 100% when one slice is left - every round contains exactly one hit. Independent mode keeps all six in play, holding the odds at 1 in 6 forever. Either way the number sits under the wheel before you spin, not after.
Can you play drinking roulette without alcohol?
Yes. Turn on "soft drinks instead" and the three alcohol slices swap to a completely separate set of zero-alcohol lines - it is a whole-pool swap, not a word replacement. The result card also permanently carries a "saying no is fine" line, so designated drivers or anyone who simply does not want to drink plays the same game with the same scoring.
What drinking game can 2 people play?
This one works from 2 to 8 players, four by default. With two people you take turns spinning, Pick One may legally point at yourself, and you can switch off the handoff screen in the settings for a faster back-and-forth. With 3-8 people All Drink and Pick One do the heavy lifting, and one shared phone is all you need.
What is on each slice of the drinking wheel?
The six slices are fixed and cannot be edited: You Drink (the spinner sips), Safe (nothing happens, dodge streak +1), All Drink (one sip each, twice per round at most), Pick One (the spinner names someone to sip), Spin Again (same player, chains twice at most) and Shield (up to two, valid this round, blocks one hit). Nothing ever asks for more than one sip.
What is the difference between drinking roulette and a drink wheel?
A drink wheel lets you write your own dares and choose how many slices there are, which suits table-specific house rules. This page is deliberately fixed at six slices and sells the visible probability curve instead: burnt slices disappear and the on-screen chance of getting hit walks up to 100%. Pick the wheel for custom dares, pick this for a fast, zero-reading round.

⚠️ This game involves alcohol: please drink in moderation and know your limit; not for minors. Turn on "soft drinks instead" in the settings to swap every alcohol line for a zero-alcohol one - and saying no is always allowed.
