🕹️ How to play

  1. How to start the drinking board game: The drinking board game is ready as soon as the page loads: three players, a 24-square short board, the mild level and a freshly shuffled board. Tap Start to play. Tap a name to rename it, use + and − for 2–8 players, and open the settings line to pick 36 or 48 squares, change the level or turn on soft-drink mode.
  2. How turns work: On your turn, tap the big die at the bottom of the screen. Your plane hops square by square and the square you land on flips open as a card that says who drinks, how many sips, or what to do. Resolve the card, then pass the phone — the banner tells everyone whose turn it is.
  3. How dare squares work: A dare square draws one short original task. Tap Done and nothing happens; tap Skip and you take 1–2 sips depending on the level. Tasks are actions, quick questions and whole-table mini games — never drinking instructions, physical contact or private questions. Squares you wrote yourself show your own text.
  4. How to make your own drinking board: Before a game, tap Custom board. Tap any square to change it to one of eight square types, and give dare squares your own house rule (up to 24 characters). Save & use keeps the board on this phone for next time. Restore random board brings back a freshly shuffled board every game.

📖 Rules & variants

Basic rules: every player has one plane on Start. Take turns rolling one die and moving that many squares; the first plane to reach Finish wins and the game ends. There is no rolling a 6 to launch, no stacking and no capturing, so nobody gets stuck — a short board usually finishes in 6–7 rounds.

Square types: Dare draws a task (do it, or skip and drink); Drink N means the lander drinks; Make someone drink means you must pick another player; Everyone drinks means one sip each; Move 2 and Back 2 shift you two squares and then resolve the new square; Skip a turn sits out your next turn; Water means the whole table takes a breather.

Sips by level: on Mild every drinking square is 1 sip; Standard raises Make someone drink and skipped dares to 2; Spicy makes Drink squares 2 sips too and adds bolder social dares. On every level nobody gets more than 2 sips added in a single turn. Players report their own sips — the game only keeps a fun tally.

Move squares fire once per turn: land on Move 2 or Back 2 and you shift two squares, then resolve that square. If it is another move square you stay put, and the card says you already moved this turn. You never go back past Start, and moving onto Finish counts as arriving. With Exact finish on, overshooting bounces you back.

How the random board is built: a 24-square board has 8 dares, 3 drink squares, 3 make-someone-drink squares, 1 everyone-drinks, 2 move-2, 1 back-2 and 1 skip, with a water square on every sixth square. The shuffle avoids three drinking squares in a row and back squares right at the start, and dares never repeat within a game.

End of game: the finisher places first and everyone else ranks by position, with ties sharing a place. The results list each player's sips in seat order — there is no most-sips award — plus the square that cost the table the most and how many water breaks you took. Play again keeps names and settings, rotates who starts and reshuffles a random board.

❓ FAQ

How do you play a drinking board game?
You take turns rolling a die, move your piece that many squares and do whatever the square you land on says; first to the finish wins. Squares here include take a sip, make someone drink, everyone drinks, move 2, back 2, skip a turn, water breaks and dares.
Can I make my own drinking board game with custom squares?
Yes. Tap Custom board before a game, tap any square to change its type, and write your own house rule on dare squares (up to 24 characters). The board is saved on your phone, so it is there next time; Restore random board switches back to a fresh shuffle each game.
What are good drinking board game squares and rules?
Good squares mix solo sips, social squares and breathers: make someone drink, everyone drinks, move forward or back, skip a turn, dares and a regular water square. This board puts a water square on every sixth square and caps anyone at 2 sips per turn so games stay fun.
Can you play a drinking board game without alcohol?
Yes. Turn on soft-drink mode and every card and square switches to alcohol-free wording, so sips are soda or water. None of the dares contain drinking instructions, and the Skip button is always available, so anyone can play without drinking alcohol at all.
How long does a drinking board game take, and how many players?
A 24-square short game takes about 10–15 minutes, 36 squares about 15–20 and 48 squares 20–30 minutes. It supports 2–8 players on one phone and plays best with 3–6; start with the short board to warm up the table.
What drinking games work for 3 people?
A roll-and-move drinking board game works well for 3 people because every turn is short and social squares like make someone drink and everyone drinks pull the other two in. The default setup here is exactly three players on a 24-square board, so you can start in one tap.

⚠️ For entertainment only. This game involves alcohol — please drink responsibly and only if you are of legal drinking age. Soft-drink mode is available, every dare can be skipped, and nobody should be pressured to drink.
