🕹️ How to play

1. Add players and pick the word bank: Type in who's playing (1-10 people, 4 by default; leave a single name for solo practice), then tick the categories you want — animals, food, objects, vehicles — pick a difficulty, a round length of 60/90/120 seconds, and how many turns each player draws.
2. Hand the phone over and read the word alone: The screen is covered first and names whoever draws next, so everyone else looks away. The artist taps to reveal the word, may swap it once per round, then taps “start drawing” — the word disappears and the countdown starts in the same frame.
3. Draw with your finger while the table shouts: Six pen colours, three stroke sizes, an eraser, undo and clear. No letters, no numbers, no talking and no gestures — that part is on the honour system. Forgot the word mid-drawing? Hold the peek button for 1.2 seconds and shield the screen.
4. Tap when someone gets it, then pass along: Tap “got it” and the clock and canvas freeze instantly; pick who guessed and they take 2 points while the artist takes 1. If the timer runs out the word is revealed and nobody scores. Check the drawing thumbnail and the scores, then pass the phone to the next artist.

📖 Rules & variants

Core loop: one phone, one artist at a time. The word bank is split by category (animals / food / objects / vehicles) and difficulty (easy / hard) and you can mix several categories into one pool. Rounds run 90 seconds by default (60 or 120 also available) and the artist gets one word swap per round. Writing letters, digits, talking or gesturing is off-limits — the game does not police it, the table does.

Scoring: the guesser scores 2 and the artist scores 1, which rewards a drawing people can actually read. A timeout or a skipped word scores nothing. Once everybody has drawn their configured number of turns (1, 2 or 3), totals decide the ranking; tied top scores share the win with no tie-break. You can also end early and jump to the totals at any settle screen.

House rules: switch the round length, restrict the pool to easy words for younger players or go all-hard; turn on the speed bonus so an artist guessed inside the first third of the round takes an extra point; hardcore mode removes undo and clear so mistakes stay on the paper; turn personal scoring off for a pure-fun rotation with no scoreboard; a single player drops into practice mode with prompts but no guessers and no ranking.

Fairness and privacy: prompts come from a seeded random source and no word repeats inside one match (if your filters leave too few words, the setup screen warns you up front). The moment you tap “got it” the time is frozen, so picking who guessed never costs the artist anything, and the artist cannot pick themselves. Everything runs offline in the page: the drawing is only ever rendered on this device and disappears when you close the tab.
