Team Building Games Generator
Pick your group size and space, draw a no-prep team building game with rules you can read aloud, then time it and draw the next - no repeats in a session
🕹️ How to play
- Choose a group size and a space: The first row sets the group size (4-8, 9-15, 16-30, 31-80 or any), the second the space (meeting room, open floor, outdoors, dinner table or any). Sizes use full coverage: a game only shows up if it works for every head count in the band, so a game that needs at least 10 people won't appear for 9-15. The match count updates as you tap.
- Draw a game and read the card aloud: The deck shuffles and flips a card: size, time, space and props on the first line, then a one-line summary, 3-5 numbered steps written to be read aloud, and a demo round. The first card of every session is always an Opener (stage 1): no familiarity needed and nobody gets singled out.
- Swap it or start the timer: "Another" draws again from the same filters, never repeating a card from this session and preferring games you haven't played before. "Play this" opens the countdown ring at the card's suggested length, which you can adjust with - and + first. Pause, add a minute, get an alert at zero and keep counting overtime - even if the phone is locked.
- Next game, then the session recap: When a game wraps up, "Next game" draws the next card straight away; "Finish this" returns to the main screen. The session bar shows how many games you've played and for how long. Tap "End session" for a stamped recap with each game and its time.
📖 Rules & variants
This page doesn't pick winners - it's a game library and a host timer for whoever is running the session. It holds 60 games, all written from scratch around common party and workshop mechanics. Every game lists four facts - group size, suggested time, suitable space and props - plus a stage: Opener (1) for groups that barely know each other, Warmed up (2) for games that need some talking or teamwork, and Close team (3) for games that need familiarity or energy.
Filters: group size uses full coverage (the game's minimum is at or below the band's lower end and its maximum at or above the upper end); space is a single choice; "No props" is on by default and hides anything needing pen and paper, phones, small objects or chairs; "Low pressure" keeps only games with no physical contact, nothing personal and no performing. The default filters leave 44 games to draw from.
Draw order: the first card of a session only comes from Openers. After that you never get the card that's already on screen; games that are new to this session and that you've never played come first, then games you played in an earlier session, and only then repeats from this session - at which point a one-time notice tells you every match has been drawn. Opening a game from the browse list counts toward the session too.
When nothing matches, the draw button greys out and the deck is replaced by up to two suggestions, such as "Space: Any (17)", ranked by how many games each single change would unlock. If no single change helps, you get "Reset filters".
Timer: "Play this" counts down from the card's suggested time (adjustable from 1 to 60 minutes on the card); "+1 min" goes up to 60 minutes total. At zero you get a time's-up alert, then the timer counts overtime for up to 30 minutes. Paused time doesn't count. Leaving the tab or locking the phone does not pause it - the game in the room keeps going, so the timer catches up with the real clock.
The recap only counts games you started with "Play this"; time is actual running time, pauses excluded, overtime included. A session resets automatically after 12 hours; played history and saved games stay until you clear them.
Tips from real sessions: start with one or two Openers before going bigger; if anyone looks uncomfortable, switch on Low pressure; every card has an "If someone would rather sit out" line - read it before you start so people know opting out is fine; for big groups, split into teams first with the team splitter; games with voting or knockouts carry a note to use care when managers are present. No game here involves penalty sips or risky physical stunts.
