🕹️ How to play

  1. How to start drawing online: The page opens on a blank sheet of paper with a black medium pen already selected. Press and drag on the paper with your finger, stylus or mouse and ink appears right away; there is no start button. When you lift after the first stroke, the status pill at the top changes from Saving… to Saved on this device with a green check. The page never scrolls while you draw; swipe outside the paper to scroll down.
  2. How to change color, size and use the eraser: The bottom bar holds Pen, Eraser, Style, Undo, Redo and More. Style opens 10 colors and three sizes (thin, medium, thick) and closes as soon as you pick; the Style button shows your current color and size. Picking a color while the eraser is on switches back to the pen. The eraser is 2.5 times as wide as the pen at the same size. Undo goes back up to 100 steps and Redo brings them back.
  3. How to save your drawing as a picture: Tap Save image. Your drawing is rendered as a white-background PNG (1536x2048 portrait, 2048x1536 landscape) and shown on a drawing card with its number, stroke count and date. On phones that support the share sheet, tap Save to Photos / Share; otherwise tap Download image, which saves a dated file such as doodle-20260930-1405.png. If downloads are blocked, long-press the image on the card to save it.
  4. How to start a new drawing or go back to an old one: Tap New drawing on the card or in More. The current drawing stays in My drawings and is never overwritten. My drawings shows thumbnails with the most recently edited first; tap one to keep drawing it, with its undo history intact. Up to 12 drawings are kept; when full you are asked to delete one first, and deleting always asks for confirmation.

📖 Rules & variants

"Endless" means endless paper, not an infinite canvas: you can always start a fresh sheet, and every old drawing stays in My drawings. Each sheet has a fixed shape - a new sheet is 3:4 portrait when you hold the phone upright and 4:3 landscape when you turn it sideways. The shape locks with the first stroke, and rotating later only rescales the view, so lines never drift.

The toolset is kept small on purpose: pen, eraser, 10 colors, 3 sizes, undo, redo, clear and save image. Undo covers the last 100 steps and still works after a reload. Clearing the paper is itself one step: a 5-second Cleared · Undo bar appears so you can bring the drawing back. Anything older than 100 steps is locked in, and strokes cleared before that point are gone for good.

Autosave: after every stroke, undo, redo or clear, the drawing is written to your browser's local storage 0.4 seconds later, and immediately when you switch apps, lock the phone or close the tab. Drawings never leave your device and are not uploaded. Clearing browser data deletes them, so save the ones you care about as an image. In private mode you can still draw and export, and a Storage unavailable notice stays on screen.

Limits: about 20,000 points per sheet (plenty for dozens of strokes) - when it is full you are asked to start a new one. A very long stroke is split into two joined strokes and counts as two undo steps. My drawings holds 12 sheets and never deletes old ones by itself. If a second finger touches the paper mid-stroke, that stroke is dropped so pinch gestures and palms do not leave stray lines.

Stuck for an idea? Tap Stuck? Get a drawing idea on the blank paper, or More - Give me an idea. A sticky note with a prompt such as a cat wearing a hat, a rainy window or a penguin on a bike appears in the corner. The 60 prompts come in three tiers (simple things, scenes, silly mash-ups) and do not repeat until the whole deck is used; the note is never included in the saved image. Party ideas: relay drawing, where everyone adds one stroke and passes the phone, or a 60-second timed drawing of the same prompt.

On a computer, draw with a mouse or stylus. Ctrl/Cmd+Z undoes, Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y redoes, B picks the pen, E the eraser, and [ / ] change the size. Drawing with the keyboard is not supported, and there are no layers, pressure brushes, fill, text, shapes or multiplayer - it is simply a sheet of paper you can draw on and keep.

❓ FAQ

Does an online drawing board save my drawing?
Yes - Doodle Board autosaves every stroke in your browser, so a reload or switching apps will not lose it. Drawings live only on this device and browser; clearing browser data or closing a private window removes them, so use Save image to keep a PNG copy of anything important.
How do I save an online drawing to my phone's photos?
Tap Save image, then Save to Photos / Share and choose Save Image in the share sheet. If your browser has no share sheet the button becomes Download image, which saves a dated white-background PNG. When an in-app browser blocks downloads, long-press the picture on the drawing card and save it from there.
How do I undo on a drawing pad online, and can I undo clear?
Tap Undo to go back up to 100 steps, and yes, Clear paper can be undone too - tap Undo on the Cleared bar right after clearing. Redo brings undone steps back, and on a keyboard Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z work. Steps older than the last 100 are locked in and cannot be undone.
What are some easy things to doodle when you're bored?
Tap Stuck? Get a drawing idea to get one of 60 original prompts, from easy objects like an umbrella or a snail to scenes like a rainbow after rain and silly mash-ups like a surfing panda. Tap Another idea if you want a different one; prompts do not repeat until the deck runs out.
Is there a simple doodle pad for kids online?
Doodle Board works well as a kids' doodle pad: no sign-up, no pop-ups over the paper, and the page does not scroll while little fingers draw. Each finished picture can be saved as an image, and New drawing starts a fresh sheet while the old ones stay in My drawings (up to 12).
How do you play a drawing relay game at a party?
In a drawing relay, everyone takes turns adding one stroke to the same picture and passes the phone on. Pick a prompt with Get a drawing idea, keep quiet and only draw, and after a full round save the result as an image to share with the group. For a faster version, give each player 10 seconds.
