๐Ÿ•น๏ธ How to play

  1. Pick a preset or customize: Pick a preset like What to eat, Decide for me or Who runs the errand, or tap Custom to type your own options one per line.
  2. Tap spin: Tap Spin (or the wheel hub); the wheel spins a few turns and stops on the slice under the top pointer, then a result card announces the answer.
  3. Spin again or draw lots: Not happy? Spin again, switch preset or edit the list. Turn on Elimination to draw lots or rank order - each spin removes the winner until one is left.

๐Ÿ“– Rules & variants

The wheel is made of equal-width option slices, one candidate each; every slice has equal odds and the pointer never lies - the program does not tweak weights.

Preset mode: 5 built-in presets spin with zero input. Custom mode: clear and type your own options one per line, up to 100 items of 30 chars each, saved locally and refilled next time.

Elimination mode (draw lots / rank order): each spin removes the winner from the working list until one remains, giving you a draw or an ordering; tap Reset to restore the full list anytime.

Roll-call mode (house rule): swap options for names or seat numbers to make it pick a random person. No win/lose, no leaderboard; the optional spin counter is just for fun.

โ“ FAQ

How do I add custom options to the wheel?
Tap Custom in the toolbar and type your candidates one per line (restaurants, names, to-dos); saving swaps the wheel to your list instantly. Hold 2-100 options of 30 chars each, auto-trimmed beyond that; the list stays in your browser and refills next visit, no re-typing.
Is the lucky spin wheel truly random and fair?
Yes, it's fair. Every slice is equal width with equal odds, drawn from a reproducible random source, and the pointer's slice is exactly the announced result - the program never tweaks weights. A 10,000-spin distribution test and a pointer-equals-result assertion prove no option is secretly weighted.
How do I decide what to eat with the wheel?
Tap the What to eat preset and spin - it ships with hot pot, BBQ, Japanese and more, settling the pick in seconds. Want your own regulars? Tap Custom, type the restaurant names and spin; perfect for menu indecision or when two people can't agree.
How do I use the wheel to draw lots or rank order?
Turn on Elimination mode: each spin removes the winning slice, the rest keep spinning until one is left - the order they come out is your draw or ranking. Tap Reset to restore the full list; great for lots, chore rotas and deciding who goes first.
How do I use the wheel for a random roll-call or to pick who pays?
Swap the options for names or seat numbers and the wheel becomes a random picker - whoever it lands on pays, runs the errand or goes first. Use the built-in Who runs the errand preset, or tap Custom to enter everyone's name one per line; add Elimination to rank the whole group at once.
Do my wheel options stay saved? Are they there on another phone?
Your custom options and last-picked preset are stored in your browser and refill automatically next time, no re-typing. But they're local-only and never uploaded, so they don't sync across devices or survive a cache clear. Wipe them anytime via Settings > Clear site data.
