Rock Paper Scissors
Play rock paper scissors against the computer: it seals its throw before you pick, then shows how it tried to read you
🕹️ How to play
- Throw straight away: The page opens on Vs computer · Mind reader · Best of 3. The card with the wax seal on the right is the computer's throw, already sealed. The three big buttons below are rock, paper and scissors, each labelled with what it beats. Tap one to throw, or press 1/2/3 on a keyboard.
- Watch the card flip and read its reasoning: After the rock… paper… scissors! beat the computer's card flips and the result bar says who won. A line underneath explains the computer's hand: for the first 3 throws it plays blind, after that it guesses from your habits and marks whether the read was right. The bottom of its card shows how many seconds before your throw it was sealed.
- Finish a match and check your habits: First to 2 round wins takes the match (3 in best of 5). Ties are replayed and never use up a round. The result card lists wins, ties and losses, how often it read you, your most-thrown hand and whether you stay after a win, plus one counter tip. Hit Play again for the next match; 3 wins in a row earns the streak badge.
- Let it decide between two people: Switch the top tab to Decide for us, type two names and press Throw!. The computer throws for both people and both cards flip at the same moment; ties are re-thrown automatically with a visible count. Choose a single throw or best of 3.
📖 Rules & variants
Rock crushes scissors, scissors cut paper, paper covers rock; the same hand on both sides is a tie. At the start of every throw the computer's hand is already generated and sealed face down, and the card that flips after you throw is that exact card — reloading the page can't swap it.
Choose best of 3 (first to 2 wins) or best of 5 (first to 3). Ties are counted separately and don't use up a round. Switching opponent or length mid-match counts as a loss and resets your streak once anyone has won a throw; if only ties were played nothing is recorded. Reloading or leaving is not quitting — the match picks up where you left it.
There are two opponents. Pure random seals a random hand every throw, ignores everything you did, and wins about half the matches in the long run. The mind reader plays blind for 3 throws, then back-tests three common human habits — repeating or cycling hands, win-stay lose-shift, and your most frequent recent hand — and trusts the one that has predicted you best. It plays the counter only 70% of the time, so it never wins every time.
Strategy: there is no strategy against pure random. Against the mind reader, break your own patterns — don't automatically repeat a winning hand and don't cycle rock → paper → scissors. It only remembers your last 30 throws on this device, and Make it forget me in settings wipes that.
Example: with a fresh memory you throw rock, paper, scissors while the computer blindly seals scissors, paper, rock, so it's 1 · 1 tie · 1. On throw 4 it spots the cycle, bets on rock and seals paper; you throw rock and the computer takes the match. The result card suggests mixing up your order next time.
