🕹️ How to play

  1. How to start: Press anywhere on the battlefield and the plane takes off and starts firing; you can also tap Take off or press Enter on a keyboard. A column of scouts flies straight at you one second in, and your guns clear it even if you never move.
  2. How to steer: Hold and drag anywhere: the plane copies your finger's movement instead of jumping under it, so you can keep your thumb below the plane and still see everything. On a computer use the arrow keys or WASD, or hold the mouse button and drag. Shooting is always automatic.
  3. How to get stronger: Downed enemies drop items: the orange diamond P raises firepower one level (up to Lv5, five shots), the cyan orb W adds a wingman, the green hexagon S gives a shield, the red star B adds a bomb and the pink heart adds a life. Grabbing one you have maxed out pays 500 points instead.
  4. How to beat the boss: Each sector shows a BOSS INCOMING bar at 73 seconds and the boss arrives at 75. Below half health it enrages and switches to aimed bursts. Beat it to pick one of three upgrades and move on; if it survives 45 seconds it retreats and you get neither points nor an upgrade.

📖 Rules & variants

Basic rules: you have 3 lives and the run ends when they are gone; there is no final stage, the goal is score. Enemy bullets and collisions both count as a hit. On a hit the action freezes for half a second and a red ring marks exactly what got you, then you lose a life and one firepower level (never below Lv1), keep your wingmen, and blink invulnerable for 2 seconds. With a shield up, a hit only breaks the shield.

How big is the hitbox: only the glowing dot in the middle of the plane can be hit, about a tenth of the plane's width. Bullets grazing a wing do nothing, and the dot brightens when a bullet gets close. Collisions use the middle 80% of an enemy's hull, so clipping a wing tip is safe too.

Firepower levels: Lv1 is a single shot, Lv2 two parallel shots, Lv3 three (one straight, two angled), Lv4 four, and Lv5 five (three parallel plus a spread). The main gun fires every 0.15 seconds; up to two wingmen fly beside you and fire straight ahead. The Rapid fire upgrade cuts the interval by another 15%, twice at most.

Enemies and scoring: scouts are worth 100 and dive without shooting; gunships are worth 400, hover for 3 seconds and fire aimed shots; heavy cruisers are worth 1,500, push down slowly firing three-shot spreads and always drop an item; the boss is worth 5,000 times the sector number. Every enemy bullet a bomb erases adds 10, and a maxed-out pickup adds 500. There are no combo multipliers.

Bombs: you start with 1 and can hold 3 (5 with the Arsenal upgrade). A bomb erases every enemy bullet, deals 40 damage to every enemy including the boss and makes you invulnerable for 1.2 seconds. There is a 1-second cooldown, so mashing the button in a panic still spends only one bomb.

Difficulty: sector 1 is the training run - no enemy bullets at all for the first 30 seconds, gunships at 30 seconds, heavy cruisers at 50, the boss at 75. Every later sector raises enemy speed, toughness and bullet speed a notch until sector 6, where speed stops climbing and only health keeps growing, so late runs are won by your upgrade build rather than raw reflexes.

The daily route: enemy formations are generated from today's date, so everyone playing today meets the same formations in the same order at the same positions, while drops depend on how you play. It keeps a separate Today's best that resets with a new route every day - handy for comparing scores with friends.

Example: how a 10,520-point run adds up. Clear the sector 1 boss and fall early in sector 2 after downing 18 scouts (1,800), 4 gunships (1,600) and 1 heavy cruiser (1,500), grabbing one more P at max firepower (500), bombing 12 enemy bullets (120) and beating the sector 1 boss (5,000): 10,520. The results card also shows time survived, kills, top firepower and what shot you down.

❓ FAQ

How do you play Plane Shooter?
Drag anywhere on the screen to move the plane; it fires automatically, so you only dodge the magenta bullets, collect power-ups and take down the boss. Three lives, no level cap - the aim is the highest score. On a computer use the arrow keys or the mouse, Space for a bomb and P to pause.
How do you power up in a plane shooter game?
Collect the orange diamond P: each one raises firepower one level, from a single shot up to a five-way Lv5 spread. The cyan W adds a wingman (two at most), the green S blocks one hit, the red B adds a bomb and the pink heart adds a life. Items you have maxed out still drop and are worth 500 points each.
Do you lose your power-ups when you get hit?
You lose one firepower level, not everything, and your wingmen stay. The screen freezes for half a second with a red ring on whatever hit you, then you lose a life and a level and get 2 seconds of invulnerability. If a shield is up, the hit only breaks the shield.
When should you use a bomb in a shoot 'em up?
Save it for moments you cannot dodge: an enraged boss firing aimed bursts, or five or more bullets closing in at once. A bomb clears every enemy bullet (+10 each), hits every enemy for 40 damage and gives 1.2 seconds of invulnerability. Its 1-second cooldown means panic-tapping only spends one bomb.
How do you get a high score in Plane Shooter?
Bosses are where the points are: the sector k boss is worth 5,000 × k, so surviving longer makes every boss more valuable. Push firepower to Lv4+ early, take Rapid fire and Piercing from the upgrade cards to kill bosses faster, and keep grabbing items at max level for +500. Steer with small movements from below the plane rather than wide swipes.
What is the daily route in Plane Shooter?
It is a mode where enemy formations are fixed by today's date, so everyone faces the same route that day; Classic shuffles them every run. Rules, items and bosses are identical in both. Records are kept apart: Classic keeps your all-time best, the daily route keeps Today's best and resets tomorrow.
