🎵 Guess the Song
Name that tune from a lyric or clue - practice solo or buzz in with friends
🕹️ How to play
- How to pick genres and a mode before you start: First pick one or more genre packs (classic oldies / Mandopop / screen hits / nursery rhymes / viral hits / festival & folk — mix freely) and a difficulty, then a mode: score match pits 2–4 teams on total points, casual is free play, solo is self-test. Beginners can just tweak a team name on the preset (score match · 2 teams · all genres · 15 cards).
- How one song card is played: Put the phone on the table as host, tap start to draw a song; the answer is hidden and only clue 1 shows. The host taps Next clue to reveal era/theme, singer trait, then title shape; everyone buzzes in with the title. Fewer clues used before a correct guess means more points.
- How scoring and revealing work: When a team gets it, tap that team's button; points follow clues used: 1 clue = 3, 2 = 2, 3 = 1. If nobody gets it, tap Reveal for the answer and score 0. Whether a guess counts is decided by the table — nicknames and slips are judged generously; the tool does no character matching.
- How a round ends and who wins: A score match ends after the agreed card count (10 / 15 / 20) and shows a ranking by total points, with co-champions on a tie. Casual ends whenever you tap End session and shows the songlist. Solo ends on End practice, showing songs guessed and best streak. Results and songlists are shareable.
📖 Rules & variants
The core rule is: guess the title using as few clues as possible for more points. Each card carries 3 clues of rising specificity — era + genre + theme, then a singer trait, then the title's length and first/last character. The answer is the title (factual info); whether a guess counts is decided by the players, and the tool only draws cards, reveals clues, hides the answer and keeps score.
Scoring and winning: 1 clue = 3 points, 2 = 2, 3 = 1, revealed = 0. A score match runs 2–4 teams buzzing card by card; after the agreed count (10 / 15 / 20) the highest total wins, with co-champions on a tie and no tie-break. Everything is local — offline, no global board, and the round's scores clear on refresh.
Three modes: score match suits larger groups splitting into teams; casual has no teams, no scoring and no end, purely for fun, wrap up any time to see the songlist; solo has one person draw and self-rate (got it / missed), tracking songs guessed and best streak. Genres can be multi-selected into one pool, and difficulty can be limited to easy (well known) or hard (more obscure).
Copyright and compliance: the game never shows any lyrics and bundles no audio; clues are our own original descriptions (era / genre / theme / singer trait / title shape). Titles and performers are factual info, so pairing them with original clues is compliant. That is also how this page differs from lyric-based guessing — you don't need to memorize lyrics to play.
Variants and house rules: the Reveal-all toggle shows all 3 clues at draw time, dropping suspense for warm-ups or kids; a themed round can lock one genre for N cards to see who knows it best; if a card stumps everyone, the host can Skip this one for a free redraw at no score; timed buzz-ins can be agreed verbally with a phone stopwatch — the game has no built-in timer.
